Oecus 32 is on the left. Room 31 with the summer triclinium is in the centre.

The stairs 30 to the upper floors are on the right.

VI.17.42 Pompeii. May 2006. Oecus 32, garden diaeta or garden room with high walls and vaulted ceiling.

This was decorated on all three walls with the famous garden fresco scenes.

Jashemski refers to it as a garden diaeta or garden room.

Aoyagi and Pappalardo refer to it as an oecus, and this is the description we use.

VI.17.42 Pompeii. 1974, cast of a mother and child, part of a family group of four who died under the staircase.

The group consisted of a man and a woman, who was holding a child, and a few metres away was an older child.

A golden bracelet of exceptional weight and unusual design was found on the arm of the woman.

This gave the name to the house.
