VI.17.42 Pompeii.
Dining room fresco from the centre of a wall, thought to be the poet Euphorion.
A female (poetess?) is
reading a diptych, and a boy with a red cloak has a plate for offerings.
SAP inventory 86075.
This is part of a
larger panel, one of several items recomposed from a large number of fragments
found in a channel in the garden.
It is thought to be
from the reconstruction work following the damage after the earthquake of AD62.
Its original room
location is unknown.

The nymphaeum has been removed and the tracing of the
outline of the original parts can be seen.
