IX.12.9 Pompeii. The House of the Painters at Work or Casa dei pittori al lavoro.

Note: we were lucky to be granted permission to see this insula in December 2006 and 2009 entering through the street doorway below.

We entered again in 2010, using the stairs at the rear of the roadway to take us up onto the walkways.

The pictures taken at ground level are in the first 5 parts and those from above the excavations are visible from Part 6 onwards.

This would have been the secondary entrance of the house, to kitchen and latrine.

The main entrance to the house is probably on the western side of the insula and has not yet been identified.
