V.2.b Pompeii. December 2007. Entrance.  According to Frohlich, on the pilaster between both entrances (on the left of the picture), would have been a painting. On a red background was painted a bird with comb on its head  – possibly a phoenix. Now vanished. See Fröhlich, T., 1991. Lararien und Fassadenbilder in den Vesuvstädten. Mainz: von Zabern. (F32, no picture).
