In the vicolo between insula 4 and 5 were inscriptions in which the owners of the buildings invoked the wrath of Jupiter on those who defecated here.
“Cacator cave malum” is written twice [CIL IV 7714 and 7715] and also a third “Cacator, cave malum, aut, si contemseris, habeas Jovem iratum” [CIL IV 7716].

In the vicolo between insula 4 and 5 were inscriptions in which the owners of the buildings invoked the wrath of Jupiter on those who defecated here.

“Cacator cave malum” is written twice [CIL IV 7714 and 7715] and also a third “Cacator, cave malum, aut, si contemseris, habeas Jovem iratum” [CIL IV 7716].
