III.3.6 Pompeii. December 2017. Room in north-east corner with amphorae with inscription on neck.

According to the Parco Archeologico di Pompei, the amphorae found intact, had to contain oil, wine and fish sauce: This vase has painted inscriptions in which you can read numbers, to indicate the quantities, and, probably, the product contained. The use of the room as storage is confirmed by the graffiti visible on one of the walls of the room, which reiterate the activity of storage.

Is this the amphora found 5th June 1915, but recorded in Notizie degli Scavi, 1927, p. 91?

“From the rustic room placed in communication with the Schola on its north side, as well as the amphorae already published in Notizie 1915, p.335, another programma with this wording was found outside, written in black.”
