HGW04b Pompeii. 1809-11. HGW04 Schola Tomb of Mamia. Reconstruction by Mazois. According to Mazois there were several terracotta masks, similar to the one drawn, “but all have been broken by the curious ones”. Does this relate in any way to the name of tomb HGW04b? See Mazois, F., 1812. Les Ruines de Pompei: Premiere Partie. Paris: Didot Freres. (p.28, Pl. IX).
