According to Curtius – this was a wall from somewhere in the House of Joseph II, and was painted by D’Amelio.

According to Curtius – this was a wall from somewhere in the House of Joseph II, and was painted by D’Amelio.

Curtius clearly references it as "Wand aus dem Hause Josephs II., Pompeji. (Nach D'Amelio, Dipinti murali, Tafel IX)". 
The words under the painting attribute it to the House of Castor and Pollux (VI.9.6), however.
