The large white panel
at the back is the Forma Urbis Pompeiorum.
This is a plan of
Pompei cut onto a 5m wide slab of travertine and was completed in 1947.
This is in an area
known as the Lararia dei Pompeianisti.
It was opened in 1948
and had the busts of Fiorelli, Ruggiero and Mau there.
The busts of Maiuri
and Della Corte were added later.
