Pompeii, September 2005. VII.16.9, on left, and side room, perhaps storeroom on right. According to Eschebach, this was a two-roomed bakery, with an oven at the rear. On the right may have been a stairs to the upper floor ? See Eschebach, L., 1993. Gebäudeverzeichnis und Stadtplan der antiken Stadt Pompeji. Köln: Böhlau. (p.347) According to Garcia y Garcia, this bakery was totally destroyed in the 1943 bombardment. The oven has now disappeared. See Garcia y Garcia, L., 2006. Danni di guerra a Pompei.
