VI.11.9 Pompeii. March 2009. Room 14, north-west corner.
According to Boyce, in a room preceding the kitchen, low down in the west wall was a lararium painting done on a red background.
It showed Fortuna, crowned and wearing a whitish tunic and mantle standing holding a cornucopia in her left and rudder resting upon a globe in her right hand.
Below her coiled a serpent, raising its head towards her.
In the background were plants, above and at the sides were garlands.
Against the wall in front of the painting stood a kind of table for the offerings.
