IV.3.g Pompeii. House of M. Cerrinius Vatia?

Linked to IV.3.f, IV.3.h and IV.3.i? Excavated 1813.

All the doorways on the northern side of Via Nola, forming Regio IV, have been filled in as a wall to keep the earth bank back from the road.

It is very difficult to find the exact position of these doorways and link them to any site plan.

Our numbering is IV.3.a to IV.3.i, based on the 1969 plan by Hans Eschebach.

Liselotte Eschebach has numbered these houses from IV.3.1 to IV.3.9.

According to Della Corte, somewhere in the local vicinity near this house was a graffito, recommending the candidate –

(M. Cerrinium) Vatiam?
