According to Boyce, on the west wall beside the hearth was preserved a corner of a panel of white stucco. It was bordered in red, and within it was painted the tail of a serpent. See Boyce G. Room 27, kitchen and hearth. Looking towards the north-west corner.

According to Boyce, on the west wall beside the hearth was preserved a corner of a panel of white stucco.

It was bordered in red, and within it was painted the tail of a serpent.

I.10.4 Pompeii.  Small ceramic jug (at centre front). SAP 4981. The seal on the lower part of this jug bears the inscription, CN. ATEIUS ARRETINUS, LIBERTUS A ATEIO. It refers to Arretinus, a freedman (former slave) whose pottery business was operated in the town of Ateio around 30-40 BC. Photographed at “A Day in Pompeii” exhibition at Melbourne Museum.
