VIII.5.17 Pompeii. December 2005. Rear entrance doorway. According to Jashemski, the garden at the rear of the caupona was entered at number 17. On the rear wall of the garden was a crudely painted picture of Silenus stretched out among plants. See Jashemski, W. F., 1993. The Gardens of Pompeii, Volume II: Appendices. New York: Caratzas.
